Make Time for Breakfast this September

Start your morning off right by consuming a well-balanced and nutritious breakfast during Better Breakfast Month! Studies have shown that students who eat breakfast feel more energized, alert, and have reported higher test scores than those who skip breakfast. Virginia Tech dining centers offer a variety of breakfasts for any time crunch so be sure to grab a bite to eat before your first class! September is also the month to celebrate National Coffee Day on September 29th by grabbing a free cup of coffee from either Dunkin Donuts or Sheetz. Research has revealed that consuming one cup of coffee each day decreases your risk of developing type II diabetes and liver cancer. However, exceeding our daily limit of 400 mg of caffeine can lead us to feel sluggish and anxious. Just like anything else, be sure to drink coffee in moderation.
